چکیده
This article deals with the asymptotic behavior of two-dimensional inviscid Boussinesq equations a damping term in velocity equation. Precisely, we provide time-decay rates smooth solutions to that system. The key ingredient is careful analysis Green kernel linearized problem Fourier space, combined bilinear estimates and interpolation inequalities for handling nonlinearity.

On the Instability of Helmholtz Velocity Profiles in Stably Stratified Fluids When a Lower Boundary is Present
We investigate the stability of a Helmholtz velocity profile in a stably stratified fluid when a lower boundary is present. In addition to the traditional Kelvin-Helmholtz interfacial instability we find an infinitude of unstable internal gravity waves, the most unstable of which bear a close resemblance to disturbances observed in connection with clear air turbulence. It is shown that the grav...
متن کاملGlobal Small Solution to the 2D MHD System with a Velocity Damping Term
This paper studies the global well-posedness of the incompressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) system with a velocity damping term. We establish the global existence and uniqueness of smooth solutions when the initial data is close to an equilibrium state. In addition, explicit large-time decay rates for various Sobolev norms of the solutions are also given.
متن کاملIntrusive gravity currents between two stably stratified fluids
We present an experimental and numerical study of one stratified fluid propagating into another. The two fluids are initially at rest in a horizontal channel and are separated by a vertical gate which is removed to start the flow. We consider the case in which the two fluids have the same mean densities but have different, constant, non-zero buoyancy frequencies. In this case the fluid with the...

The flux through the interface between a mixing layer and a stable layer plays a fundamental role in characterizing and forecasting the quality of water in stratified lakes and in the oceans, and the quality of air in the atmosphere. The evolution of the mixing layer in a stably stratified fluid body is simulated in the laboratory when “Penetrative Convection” occurs. The laboratory model consi...
